APG was originally designed and developed by John Clayton and includes contributions by Dave Torok.

 Version 2.0 Planned features include:
  • Migration to JDK 1.4
  • Move image metadata to XML from current file-based approach
  • Usability improvements
  • Greater templating abilities and Gallery Styles
23 October 2003
 Version 1.5 Released.  This is a maintenance release and the last release which is compatible with Java SDK 1.3.  Improvements include:
  • Performance improvements
  • First official release with FreeMarker template generation
  • Toggle "display included" on/off
  • Various bugfixes
  • A new website with actual documentation for the first time in two years.

 Version 1.36 in CVS but not released.  This included the FreeMarker and "display included" toggles contributed by Dave Torok
